Quick question regarding iMac ram on 27" 2015

Hi, I just purchased a 2015 27" iMac. It comes with the standard 8GB (2x4GB sticks). I purchased an additional 2 8GB sticks for a total of 24GB.

I was just wondering how I should slot them? Should I leave the 2 4GB sticks as is and put the new 8GB sticks in the other slots? Or should I put the 2 8GB sticks in the existing 4GB slots?

put them in the empty slots. no need to lose the other 8GB of stock ram
