Quick question

My GF can download and install songs iTunes into her iPod on her phone (iPhone 4) without having to sync them from the computer. My 3GS does not allow me to do this unless I hook it up to the computer and sync.


I take it the 3GS doesn't have that upgrade

Are you saying that you are unable to purchase songs from iTunes directly on your 3GS? If so, you have a problem with either the phone or your iTunes account.

Correct. When I go to iTunes I can download the song, but when I open my iPod it says "You must sync with your computer before you can use iPod" then it kicks me back to the homescreen.

Have you ever sync'd music with your iTunes?

Settings > Store > Choose which automatic downloads you want

In iTunes > Edit menu > Preferences > Store > Choose which automatic downloads you want
