Quick RAM question

Hi, so I upgraded my imac from 2GB to 8GB and now its so much faster, alot faster then my new 13" non retina MBP, which on paper should be 2x as fast! So I have decided to do the same, my question is on the crucial website it is cheaper to buy ONE stick of ram at 8Gb then it is to buy 2 STICKS of 4GB.

Will there be any performance difference between buying the 1 or the two sticks?

There is a slight performance benefit in using matched pairs of RAM.
