IOS 5 looks like it will be a very significant update and the notifications look great, but there is one feature missing that needs to be there and that's quick reply. I know this beta 1 so its still possible it will be implemented in the future, but we must do our part to encourage this. Everyone should go to apple.com/feedback and make that a request. Incase it's slipped there mind I think if many ppl ask for this it will happen. It would be much appreciated. :)

Messages, like how bitesms allows you to do so when you get a message without having to leave whatever app you are in

Yes I mean Quick Reply for SMS just like Bitesms. I'm not really concerned with the functionality for email or anything else but for text it just would be much more convenient for everyone.

We need to start a trend on Twitter to get these turds to pay attention. This is a serious need .

#QuickReplyforiOS5PLEASE!

I think they will implement it before or at release of the final version of iOS5. If not, you could always just install BiteSMS with JB.

(There's also a free "Quick Reply for SMS" tweak for iOS 4; that's what I use since I like the default Messages app.)

I really hope it's put in before iOS5 Final comes out.
It's a feature that should have been implemented when multitasking was if not before then.
