Quick - straight answers from MacbookPRO Penryn owners

Hi.
This forum seems to filled with questions everywhere, but no place to answer them all (or most of them).
Here are some I have found laying around with no straight answers.

PLEASE PENRYN OWNERS ONLY (THAT IS, MACBOOKPRO BOUGHT AFTER FEBRUARY 27TH, WITH L2 CACHE OF 3 OR 6 MB).

1.- What confirguration do you have (Processor, HD, Ram, VRAM, Screen size)?

2.- What is the Geekbench 2 score for your computer?

3.- Is the keyboard back-light blue in tone?

4.- Is the standby / sleeping mode light near the hatch release white or blue?

5.- How long has your battery lasted and under what conditions (low - high use of HD, airport on / off, bluetooth on / off)?

6.- Is there a num-lock key in your keyboard?

7.- Are there still num-lock numbers in the u,i,o,j,k,l,m, etc keys?

8.- Your personal opinion of the new touch pad?

9.- Is there a yellow stripe color problem at the bottom of your screen?

Hello, Hope this helps:

1. 2.4Ghz, 200GB, 2 GB(uped to 4 GB soon also), 256MB Vram, 15.4inches
2. I haven't done that yet but it has been done before in previous threads.
3. more white than blueish(blue not noticeable)
4. Its white.
5.Under regular web surfing, mail. 5 hours. Under 100% load using handbrake encoding season episodes. 2 - 2.5 hours (never noticed)

8. Its just like the other touch pads. I don't really use the gesture thing.
9. nope.

Hope that helps. I can try to run geek bench later. Hey Enzo, can you run the geekbench too? i wanna see how the 2.6 compares to my 2.4.

8. I really like the touchpad. It could be a little bigger, but it works fine with the finger gestures.

4 hours surfing using Airport, then put to sleep for ~5 hrs, BT off

love it increases efficiency when coupled with appz that utilize the multi touch. eg. Safari, backward or forward with 3 finger swap, spread and pinch to zoom in zoom out. iPhoto is much more fun to use. Finder using 2 finger swap to scroll through Cover Flow. However, Aperture 2 doesn't support pinch

yes about 1/2", Pantone HueyPro calibration took care of it.

Same here, is yours very noticeable? mine is like a very slight "white-yellow" not outright obvious but you can tell theres a subtle difference in color and when you use the computer as much as i do it gets annoying.

Oh and Geekbench is 3231.

Same for me except its a 2.4. I have been getting about 4.5 - 5 hours of battery, usually while sorting and paying music and movie files. The back light is white.

Yeah, mine was very slight... the overall screen was kind of "dull" looking too (on a glossy), even though I calibrated it twice. Just seems that it was a bum screen.

I took mine back to the Apple store tonight... manager said he could not see what I was talking about, but ptobably didn't help that we standing directly below the flourescent lights! However, he did not hesitate at all to exchange it for a new one, I was actually kind of surprised he was so quick to do so, but happy that he was a nice guy and didn't give any hassle.

I just got home a little while ago, havn't had time to check out the new one yet, so crossing my fingers. While I was at the Apple store, I checked out some of the display models... They had two matte and one glossy MBP's on display. One of the matte ones had the yellowish screen problem too, but the other two next to it were fine. Thought that was interesting...
