quick way to copy files to folders

Back in the OS 9 days, there used to be a very convenient program
that, when you control-clicked on a file, produced a pop up menu
which would allow you to copy that file to any folder on the
hard drive. Does anyone know what OS X program does
that? Or is this something built in that I haven't tried?
