I'm about to buy a new unibody 15" MPB, and I have a Samsung 2253BW display that I plan to use with it sometimes.

Which DVI adapter do I need to buy? I can't really see the difference aside from the insane price on the longer-cabled one:

Thanks :)

You need the second one... $29 Thats the one I have. The other one is for Dual-Link displays like the 30'' Apple Cinema Display.

I guess I can ask this here since it's pretty relevant to the thread's topic...

But how does that dual link whatever thing work?
I use the mini-displayport to DVI adapter...
The dual link one seems to have a USB on one end?

I'm not familiar with the ACD monitors at all... but do they use USB to receive video or something?? I'm a bit confused.

Dual Link DVI is used to drive resolutions greater than 1920x1200 like 2560x1600 on 30" displays.

the USB port on the adapter is so you can use the USB ports on your monitor if there are any.

ahh... the "dual-link" designation had nothing to do with the USB, but rather the DVI type. I thought they were referring to something with USB attachment.
That answers my question.
