Hello again.

Due to reasons I won't go into, I can't use my drive to boot thus can't use my OSX Tiger CD anymore until I get around to purchasing a new one.

So, I was wondering if the X11 download (apparently for panther) will also work with Tiger.

Thank you

You could always use Pacifist to extract the X11 installer from the Tiger CD, assuming the drive still works, then run the installer that way just to be safe.

I'm afraid that the OSX disk won't even spin up, it tries but simply stops. I don't know why as other DVDs work, but hey, my fault for damaging the old Apple one.

So, will the downloaded version work with 10.4?

No, I don't think it will. Someone else posted about trying it and failing fairly recently. It's not compatible with the build of X11 that is in Tiger, from what I understand.

Ah well I guess I'll just have to wait until I get another drive.

Thanks for the help.
