Quick Yes/No question concerning app data on iPhone after Jailbreak

Will my currently saved data, inside apps, be there after Jailbreaking? The "restore" step has me a little confused/worried. I have data, I'd rather nit lose at this point.

If you do Greenp0ison, you "jailbreak in place" and skip the restore step. If you use PwnageTool though, backup in iTunes, restore the custom IPSW, then restore from backup when the install is done, then let it resync.

PwnageTool is Mac Only. Greenpois0n is for both. Just to be sure, you haven't upgraded to 4.3/4.3.1 yet right? There isn't a simple JB released for that yet.

I have 4.3, thinking of doing 4.3.1.

I'm not too concerned over tethered, as I've re-booted my phone...maybe twice since I've owned it (and that's when I was learning how to do it )

HERE are instructions on how to do it. It's a tad involved for 4.3.1 right now (manual tethered boot..not simple dfu-automatic). iPhone 4 only right now.

Step 2...what the phantom menace did I do wrong. In my downloads, it says PwnageTool_4-1.2.dmb.6176918.TPB.torrent. I click on it and my Mac doesn't recognize it as a file???

Haha, but anyway, it downloaded a torrent file instead of the actual program. Go back to that page and scroll down just a little bit more till you see the list of mirror servers. Download the program from one of those instead.
