Quickbooks is at times very Slow using Parallels and Windows. Sometimes 15 minuets to open QB. At times when windows is updating, QB will not work at all.

I have an IMAC mid 2011, 12 memory

I'm thinking of buying the new 5k retina, 32 memory, 1T Flash

Could you provide more info on your set up. Does your iMac have dual or quad processor? Also, what are you settings for Parallels?
1) How much RAM do you allocate
2) How many processors do you allocate
3) What version of Windows are you using and is it 64 or 32 bit?

Both of these will make a difference. There are other things you can do including getting rid of overhead that isn't required to run Windows.

I use Parallels with a quad 2.0 Mac Mini and run Windows 7 Pro 32 bit. It runs reasonably well as I allocate 2 processors, 8 gigs of RAM.

iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011)
2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Windows 7 64

I changed CPUs: from 1 to 4; changed Memory from 1GB to 4GB

If I go higher on the memory it shows red line

I had forgotten the location possibilities. I will work QB and judge the performance.

Thanks for input!!!
