Hey currently when I use quicklook on avi movies it does not display the video, it does however work when i open the video in quicktime. Any news on an upgrade or program that will fix this?

Avi isn't a codec (which is what quicklook needs)

Filetypes not supported by quicklook will come with time with plugins.

I had DV video in an .avi container that Quick Look couldn't handle. Other .avi movies work fine in Quick Look.

I thought Perian isn't compatible - can anyone else confirm? If so, cool, Perian over Divx every time!

i thought i just did confirm. i installed it. and i can see avi's. i don't know anything else i have on my machine that would allow this.

sorry just read the 'anyone else'

I suspect that the problem you have is that you are testing it right after installing Perian, not knowing that you should restart all programs that will use the codecs before it can work. So after installing the Perian PerfPane, you should either reboot your mac or go into terminal and write "killall Finder" (that will restart Finder).

Hope this helps for people with this problem in the future!
