Quicklook colours inverted for .txt files

I'm using macOS 10.14.6 light mode.

When using Spacebar to quicklook a .txt file, the file is rendered in white on black. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to fix this? Thanks!

I never use dark mode. And switchign to dark mode and back doesn't solve it.

I'll see if a restart fixes it next time I do so...

OK - I restarted. Still in light mode as usual. The quickLook of .txt files is still inverted...

Any other ideas? It is really annoying!

Further to this...does anyone know where the System Preference file is for Text Edit? Not in the usual place...

Fixed it. It was a completely unrelated problem caused by TextMate overwriting the QuickLook plugin:

Disabling the Quick Look plugin that comes in the TextMate 2 alpha.
