Hello there,
I've got a Penryn 2.5 Ghz Macbook Pro running Leopard 10.5.5. I use the Quicklook feature frequently, though it can hang the entire system completely. Here's what happens:
I navigate to a folder containing +10 jpgs (and/or any other mixed content), select a few of them (or the entire folder) and push the quicklook button, then a "thumbnail grid" button. From time to time it hangs up an entire computer almost immediately and there's no other way to have the control back over it than restarting it by a power-on button.
Things that may be helpful:
1) It offen happens just after the system reboot or when the images are not yet cached (that means I'm accessing a folder for the first time)
2) My MBP passed the Apple Hardware Test as well as any other stability related benchmarks /Rember etc./.
3) The computer is not suffering from any heat issues, in fact it's almost brand new - has about a month.
4) Apart from the crash above, the whole system is very fast and stable.
---
Okay, I did some deeper research and found out that this error is very common on penryn 2.5 ghz macbook pros - or is it Leopard?
Here's the corresponding piece of my system.log:

Any hints appreciated.
