Hello all,

Quicklook on my mac running OS X 10.8.2 seems to remove formatting of all my .doc documents. I was just wondering if this is what the document would look like to someone with an older version of word, or does quicklook normally just remove all formatting from Microsoft Word documents?

I'm using Microsoft Word 2011 for mac with my files saved as .doc. They look perfect within the app, just not quicklook.

Quicklook is designed for exactly that: taking a quick look to identify a document without opening it. You won't get all the formatting effects without opening the document in an appropriate app. It's not removing any formatting; it's just not displaying it. The formatting is still there if you open the document in Word.

Thank you! I guess there won't be any compatibility issues after all then.
