QuickLookSatellite and DMG files

Hello,
I've noticed that every time I navigate to a folder containing DMG files from the finder or from stacks in the dock a process called QuickLookSatellite suddenly starts taking up heaps of RAM (over 1GB sometimes). Also in stacks no thumbnail shows up for the DMG files? What is causing this? Thanks for any advice.
