Quickly scroll to bottom?

I know I can double tap the top banner where the time is to quickly scroll to the top of a long thread or page- but is there a similar trick to scrolling to the bottom?

Don't think there is. I ended up using an app called End of Page. Works really well. It's essentially a bookmark that you open up on the page you're viewing that brings a bar with a down arrow. Press the arrow and the page goes all of the way to the bottom of it.

You only need a single tap.

what does that do? just goes to TOP of page for me.

you can use a 3rd party browser like Atomic (for example) which has this and many other useful options.

I use "End of Page" app - it works ok
