Hi all,

I just picked up a dual 800 quicksilver on the cheap and have it connected to my old VGA Dell 17" monitor.

No matter what I do, calibrated or not, it has a weird bluish green tint to it. I've calibrated it, used a different VGA cable- but no change. When I tested it out in front of the guy, he was using the Apple monitor with DVI and it looked fine. I wiped the HDD, and reinstalled Tiger. Apple finds the exact profile for this monitor, but it still looks weird. What's going on here?

Check closely on the cable or the VGA output on the G4. Are there any bent or pushed in pins? It sounds like one isn't making proper contact.

I'll have to check that. Is it possible for the video card to have a bad VGA out? I was just using this monitor with my Windows Vista PC, and it worked with no problems at all.

Its possible. I've seen it happen before, although usually on the VGA cable, not on the card itself. Although anything is possible.

Kudos to you, sir.

It turned out to be a bad cable. One day it works, the next day it doesn't.

Thanks again!
