Is it recommended to just disable shortcut for Spotlight and leave it for QuickSilver?

Is there anything that Spotlight can do while QuickSilver cant ?

Thanks

I don't know if it's recommended, but I went with the Command-Space shortcut for Quicksilver and substituted F1 for Spotlight. I use QS a lot more than Spotlight, and I find Command-Space easier. I take it you know how to do that?

As for what the difference between the two is, see this thread, and in the future do a quick search of the MacRumors forums before posting. That's only the most recent thread. There are probably hundreds of others like it.

you don't necessarily need to disable the command for spotlight. i still use the spotlight key combo and use another for QS (double command and option+command). there are many combinations you can make with the shift, control, option, and command keys and the space bar.

Thanks guys for prompt repy,

since I need also to worry about efficiency of switchin inputs(I am Chinese)

Finally I went with:

ctrl + space => Spotlight (least used)
alt + space => QS (more frequently used)
command + space => switching input (most frequently used)

I always use Quicksilver for launching applications, where I use Spotlight to look for files. I changed Spotlight to option-space and command-space for Quicksilver.

they both have their uses, so i wouldn't disable spotlight at all. quicksilver doesn't index your hard drive the same way that spotlight does afaik. although i must say that i use spotlight a lot less than quicksilver.
