Does the fan in quicksilver mac's turn on and off automatically?

I don't think so. The sound level of mine is the same all the time.

yeah, mine is always on and doesn't seem to change speed.

mine changes speed...since i put the extra hard drive it has been running a lot more...if i don't use the slave drive and it stops spinning the fan will slow down and not make as much noise
