Quicktime 7 Problem

After installing Tiger and Quicktime 7, I tried playing back some DV files off of my hard drive, and the picture seems to be washed out. I noticed the problem when I received a DV file in Mail, and the playback in the Mail message looked signifcantly better than the playback from a QT window on my desktop.

Also, in FCP, the DV file looked fine (not washed out).

Has anyone else noticed a problem like this? I can't figure it out, but it is pretty frustrating.
