Hello, I am having a frustrating time with QuickTime. I'm doing the Modest Mouse video competition, and none of the videos that I need to download will work. I have sucessfully downloaded them (per the provided instructions), but when I try to view them in QuickTime, the audio comes out perfect, but the video is completly white. I checked the format, and the video is in Apple Intermediate Codec. Do I need a special QuickTime plugin to view this?

I thought the Apple Intermediate Codec came with every copy of OS X. Is it limited to the Pro apps? Or, QuickTime Pro maybe?

I wouldn't know, I guess—Final Cut Studio has been one of the first things I've installed on every Mac I've ever owned.

Well, I have Final Cut Studio, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Unfortunately, I'm still at work and so can't get the files myself to see what's up. I'll definitely take a look once I get home, though.

That was one of the things I tried before posting. Didn't work (obviously, or I wouldn't have posted anything  ). Apearantly, I need a copy of the Intermediate Codec already installed.

From everything I read, the codec is part of QT 7.0 (not necessarily QTPro). The codec is also referenced in iMovie, FinalCutExpress/Pro, iDvd as part of their libraries, so I'm wondering if you could import the files and view/export as QT through them as a workaround. Or maybe your QT is corrupted.

I tried importing into iMovie, and Final Cut Pro. No luck. I'm going to try reinstalling QuickTime.

BTW, I was wondering if I needed this?

EDIT: Reinstalling QuickTime did not work.
