Quicktime Hijacking Defaults

To set my avi's to play by default in VLC, I right-clicked, selected 'Open-With' > "Other...", selected 'VLC and checked 'Always Open With".

When I do the exact same thing for MP4s, they continue to open in quicktime.

What's up?

How do I set mp4s to play in VLC by default?

In Finder, select a file that you want to change the default for. In the info window that opens, select the application that you want to open that file type with and then hit "Change All..."

Thanks! I must have been using a PC mentality.

So does that mean the technique I was using before was xjust changing the default application for that one file, rather than all mp4s?
