Multiple flaws in Apple's QuickTime media player could put millions of Windows and Mac users at risk of code execution attacks, Apple confirmed in an advisory issued today.
For some reason what I meant to say wasn't transferred very well. These patches come out all the time. I have yet to hear anybody make use of these QuickTime vulnerabilities in Mac OS X or Windows. And nobody has yet to make use of any vulnerability in Mac OS X.
It's hypothetical - Macs do not actively prevent viruses and malware. They are just designed more secure and are also incompatible with Windows malware. No saying it can't ever happen. It just hasn't yet (in like the seven years since Mac OS X came out).
Essentially, someone could THEORETICALLY use this to try to hack a system. However, nobody actually has, and you can bet that this potential hole will be fixed before anyone does.
