My Quicktime (latest version) has stopped smooth resizing (live resize). Now, it just cuts to each of the different sizes instead of the animated enlarging. How do I get it back?

Also, small detail but its driving me nuts... my weather widget temperature display is off center... misaligned on the widget I guess. If possible, how can I fix this?
