Quicktime M-PEG 2 Demo?

Is there a demo for this $19.99 plugin? I am not sure if my files will work with this extension and I do not want to waste $19.99 to find out.

Also, does the full version of Quicktime 7 ($29.99) include this plugin?

I don't think there's a demo and QT Pro doesn't have it. Must be purchased separately.

I have .mpg and .mpeg files that work with quicktime and others that do not. I am guessing the reason they do not is because they are mpeg 2. Therefore, I think i need it, but I do not want to risk wasting $20.

Download VLC and try it out.

They work in VLC but the scan bar doesn't work (have to FF manually).

Yeah, the scrubbing isn't exactly the best. Anyway, VLC should tell you what the video is encoded in.
