Quicktime not playing ANY web streams

After repeated attempts, I cannot get the WWDC stream or any other Quicktime web stream to work on my G5. My PowerBook plays them all just fine. I have re-installed Quicktime, re- installed the 10.4.1 update, repaired permissions with no luck.

One thing I have noticed is that the Quicktime app on the PowerBook has 2 help menus. The PowerMac only has 1. Could this have something to do with it???

Any other suggestions welcomed.

in your qt preferences, try changing the type to http from automatic... i forget exactly where it is (last or second to last tab in the prefs, and then in a drop down menu where you have to choose "custom")... i couldn't view the keynote (on my g5 with tiger) until i did that.
