Quicktime not playing audio

Hey all,

I have a collection of AVI videos with MPEG 3 audio encoded into them but for some reason Quicktime has stopped playing the audio.

VLC plays it fine.
QUicktime plays the video fine, and individual MP3 files fine, but the combination doesn't work. Any ideas?

I recommend Perian too, it adds a bunch components that play a bunch of different file types.
