Bonjour, I just purchased a late 2011 Macbook Pro in May. And I am filming on a Canon t2i DSLR. The video playback in Quicktime player lags in random places and I'm at 10% usage.

I brought it into apple to get looked at and they re installed the OS, said it no longer lagged. I get home and it still lags.

What could the issue be?

Maybe try downloading VLC media player and check if you have the same problems? Quicktime can act up on some videos I find.

Thanks, I downloaded VLC player and it worked better. I ended up installing the new OS and it actually made everything perfect.

Also noticed this with Lion installed. It looks like it skipped a frame every once in a while. Haven't checked if this issue still persists with mountain lion, though.
