I just realized (while playing a movie in both QuickTime Player and VLC) that the picture in VLC is sharper than in QT.

How so? Is there a way to make it sharper in QT?
 
I think it would all just depend on the resolution of the video, but maybe not. Have you made any special changes to VLC's default settings that could have done this?
