Because the QuickTime Player is owned by system, it is pretty darned hard to delete it on purpose and virtually impossible to delete it by accident. Are you certain that you actually deleted the application?

just tried on my macbook, I delete the QuickTimer Player.app under ~/Applications, copy it from my iMac, it works here.
I don't know why you say it's definitely impossible.
Possibly because you didn't actually delete anything.

QuickTime is more than an application. There are system files and preference files that go along with it.

It's not going to work if you just delete it, trust me.
