i am pretty happy with quicktime pro. plenty of plugins, anything it won't play, kind a rare, can always be played on vlc. love tha ease of editing. mi problem is that it won't save anyting in its own format. it uses MOV for all. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS!?

is there a work around or a similar app that don't have tha same drawback?

it is kinda stupid, it love wrapping things in the mov extension, in the hope that you force windows ppl to download and use quicktime rather than windows media. (my opinion).

to save in another format you need to go File -> Export and choose your format and settings, then it will re-encode it, this is the only way.
