Quicktime Pro saves blank .wav files

I have a FLV that I want to save as a wave file to extract the audio. I opened the .flv in Quicktime Pro and did Export>Sound as Wave. It renders a wave file, about 58MB in size, but there's no sound. Looking at the waveform in Audacity confirms that the file is blank and contains a flat waveform. I tried converting the FLV to quicktime and then converting to wave (and even AIFF), but the problem persists. Any ideas?

Had the same problem yesterday

I hope this works!

Procedure: (assumes you use Perian or other utility to play .flv files on Quicktime Pro)

1. Export (not "save as") the .flv as a Quicktime video.
2. Quit out of the .flv file.
3. Load the new Quicktime video.
4. Export the audio as .wav.
5. Load the new .wav file and enjoy!
