Hello

I upgraded to Quicktime Pro last night and it seems to be working fine.

Then I tried to open a video (some .avi) some .mov files with my audio interface (digidesign rack 002) and i can't get any audio to play??

It plays the audio through my internal speakers when in the preview mode but there is no audio when i play in quicktime??

I have schecked all my settings in both quicktime and 002 and all seem fine, the same as whjen i played the same videos in quicktime(not pro) and audio was present.

Can anyone help?or had the same problem?

thanks

Could be the audio and video are muxed. Try using MPEG Streamclip to convert. If that doesn't do it, find out what the specific codec was used to make the file.

Press [cmd]+[j] or select the Window > Show Movie Properties menu item. It will tell you everything that there is to know about the video. Report back.

the name is a .mov file
the video is mpeg-4
the sound is AAC

for some reason now the sound is playing through my internal speakers inside the mac but when i use my digidesign 002 rack to put audio through my external studio speakers there is nothing there.

any ideas?

thanks for all replies
