Hey guys/girls,
I downloaded a season of a TV show and when I try to open any of the files it says that "The File could not be opened. It is not a movie file"

It is a blatant .avi file and of appropriate size.

Some of the seasons work (seasons 1-3 work fine, parts of 4 and none of 5)

I have no problem viewing other .avi's in quicktime.

any thoughts? suggestions? thanks

Jon

Have you installed perian (perian.org). It works for me. The DIVX codec and such from their site is pretty cr*ppy.

If you really aren't able to watch it, you can try VLC. It reads anything. (I just don't like it because you can't use "jkl" for playing and reversing like in quicktime and final cut pro)
