so i downloaded quicktime off apple.com because i accidentally deleted it....after i finished installing and everything i couldnt find it in my applications folder and i searched for quicktime on finder and it wouldnt show up....whats wrong?

What version of QuickTime are you talking about and what Mac OS X version do you have?

Have you already looked into the Utilities folder (Finder > CMD+SHIFT+U) if you have Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)?

Have you tried Spotlight (CMD+SPACE)?

As Mac OS X 10.5.x (Leopard) only has QT 7, the QuickTime application should be stored in the Applications folder. Has a once again re-installation of QT brought any success?

Can you right click on the installer and select SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS?

no and it doesnt say show package contents

Anyways, it sounds like you're not installing the correct one.

I've had that happen with some other app before. Installed it and instead of giving me an error, it just finished. Turns out it was for Leopard instead of Snow Leopard, I was installing the wrong version.
