I have a new macbook Pro and have been a Windows user for many years so am pretty new to the whole mac experience. I have Safari and Quicktime X is installed on my system... I'm having issues with quicktime because when I try to access a zshare.com music file to listen to, I only get the Quicktime Q with a ? in the middle... Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this? Thanks!

Probably the file is in a format not supported by Quicktime. (What type of file is it? What's the file extension---the part of the name after the . ?) Or the file is corrupted in some manner.

You can also install XiphQT for Ogg Vorbis/Theora support. This is unrelated to your issue but it will allow you to use some nice open source codecs as well.
