QuickTime Recordings

I have a new Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision. In iChat and Photo Booth the feed from the webcam is very smooth at 30fps. However in QuickTime when I make a recording it becomes very slow and jerky, as if the frames per second had dropped. I fiddle with the Recording settings in QuickTime but nothing seemed to produce the same image from Photo Booth or iChat.

Is there a way around this?
