Something strange is going on with my new current generation Mac Mini.
Since this morning I use a second display (Samsung P2450H) along my SyncMaster 226BW and whenever I watch something in QuickTime (or VLC for that matter) and I turn off one of the displays, the video starts to stutter occasionally.
This happens both with HD and non-HD content.

Have no clue as to how this could happen, especially since System Profiler shows the displays to be powered on even when they actually are not:confused:

Anybody ever heard of this?

Re: Quicktime stutters with second display turned off

I had a similar issue before, though I have no idea why the fix I found works.

Just got to /System/Library/Extensions and delete AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext

You might want make a copy of the file on to another disk or something, incase something goes wrong.

Yeah I found the exact same fix (seems to be something from the hackintosh community) but it didn't help.

My workaround right now is to keep the secondary display on but that's crappy...
