Quicktime Update Faster H.264 Encoding?

Over in a thread at the iPhone blog I saw the following post about the Quicktime 7.2 update:

There's a big change with the H.264 codec.

I encode a LOT of HD1080i video into various sizes using H.264 and I tell you what.The speed of conversion has picked up at least 5 fold on my Mac Pro.

Anyone else seeing this kind of increase in efficiency? I am just installing the update now, and probably won't have a chance to encode anything until tomorrow, but wondering if others are getting big gains as well.

The conversion to iPhone took about 3min.
The conversion to TV took about 6min.
