I have an iMac and MacBook that both share files stored on a Time Capsule. Both computers have identical software: Quicktime Pro, Perian, & Flip4Mac. When I open an .avi file on the MacBook, Quicktime opens it with no problem. When I do the same on the iMac, Quicktime won't cooperate, saying (to paraphrase) "the file is not a movie file." I've checked the settings and versions of Quicktime/Perian/Flip4Mac on both computers and they're the same. (Of course I can use VLC to open the .avi files on the iMac, but I prefer to use Front Row and Quicktime).

Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions?
