Hello,

i can't play .mov files on my windows computer!

i captured hd video on my mac, and i transfer them to my windows computer and they won't play. ideally, i would love them to play through picassa, as well as through quicktime.... is this possible?

thanks,
r.

what player are you using on windows?

did you try VLC? did in install the codecs?

i am using primarily quicktime pro, i believe the latest version.

vlc for windows... will that allow me to view the .mov files in picassa? i am not sure how picassa handles video files...

thanks much!

r.

yes! that picassa...

i find it very very useful in organizing photos and well as videos, and yet it does playback video through it's interface. but not .mov!

but presently, i have no way of viewing .mov on my windows computer at all!

thanks,
r.

neither works!

did a straight install of the first one, didn't work, deinstalled it, did an install of the other one, didn't work either.

very bad.
thanks for any help!

I note that you gave neither your version of Windows nor your version of QuickTime installed on your Windows computer. It sounds suspiciously like you have a very old version of QuickTime. I suggest that you download the latest version from Apple's website. QuickTime for Windows is now part of the QuickTime/iTunes package.

mov that plays on MACOSX Tiger- won't play on Windows XP Quicktime 7 (current)

I have put up .mov files on both of my sites. I always check that they play.
MAC no problem - PC Problem
(I feel like one of the MAC/PC ads)

I have tried reinstalling Quicktime and Firefox and IE
On firefox it tells me that a plug in is missing but then shows it is there but it won't play. I tried to look for MIME something but it was over my head....

I need mov to play on my sites because many of my poor clients are stuck with Windows. Would appreciate help!

I have the same problem.

I have uploaded .mov's onto my website from my mac.
With all macs it works fine, with PC's they won't play.

I'm thinking it could have something to do with the encoding i am using to make the quicktime?
