Quicktime wont work

ive redownloaded it several times.
i only get the words on a numerous amount of videos, but no picture. why is this?

What kind of videos are you trying to watch? What format are they in?
Does it happen with all types of video, or just some? Finally, did you generate the videos yourself, or did you get them from another source (could they be corrupted)?

well, all the demo videos for leopard wont work, and not one of the videos for the keynote/event/video thread is working (i get sound but no video)

Sounds like you do not have the right codec installed in quicktime. Download this free player, it's a great program and will play almost anything.

You should be able to play the videos off the Apple website, as that shouldn't be a problem. For playing other kinds of files, try using the Perian codec, which will give you more options.

To the OP: can you give us a link to the files you're trying to watch, so we can try and see if we have the same problems?

oh, if this helps nothing comes up when i search quicktime 7 in finder, only quicktime player. i dont know if that is the same thing (i think it is) but just saying. I have gone to the quicktime download on apple and downloaded at least 3 times


Edit: works in firefox. i guess ill be using that until an update.
