After installing Snow Leopard, I (ignorantly) deleted Quicktime X in order to download and install QT7. However, when trying to install Quicktime 7, the installer says that Quicktime X is "still present" and therefore cannot install.

Now, I'm stuck without Quicktime. For those wondering, I already permanently got rid of X from my recycle bin, so that is definitely not an option.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here's some really good reading on Quicktime vs Quicktime X if your interested,

I believe there is a quicktime 7 instlaler on the snow leopard CD isn't there? I know this is a little drastic, but is doing a clean re-install an option? Also maybe consider using time machine in the future, would allow you to get Quicktime X back again if you had it :D

I just installed the quicktime 7 player, using the DVD, which seemed to play some of the things that the new quicktime wouldn't.

Of course it installed mine in the Utilities folder for some reason, so it threw me for a moment where QT7 was.
