Is it just my impression or has Quicktime X's video playback quality improved dramatically from Quicktime 7? It seems on par with Windows Media Player/Media Player Classic now (I am actually praising QT by saying so, I used to reboot into windows when I wanted to watch something I cared about).
It also seems way faster than before, in spite of my MBP having an 8600M GT and not taking advantage of GPU assisted AVC decoding; also, I am in love with the new interface (for the first time I am not installing VLC or MPC OSX Extended).
Now, if only we could have decent MKV support (Perian sucks big time and apparently doesn't work with QTX)....
Also, is there any chance iTunes could be getting a similar treatment in the future? The damn thing is bloated as hell and looks worse than WMP or the Zune Application.
