I am trying to watch some home videos that are in the format of .avi. Can i download something that would able me to watch these movies via quicktime??? Please help!

that's a good page for that sort of information. vlc is pretty good i believe, not very familiar with it. you may have to download a few codecs but the webpage explains it all.
