Hello. The wife has an iPhone 7 Plus. In the past 1-2 weeks, the volume has suddenly got super quiet through both speakers (ear piece and speaker at the bottom of the phone). At max volume, both speakers put out fuzzy, quiet sound at approximately 1/4 of the typical max volume. This occurs with all apps, whether her ring tone, videos through Safari, Spotify, etc. We tried a DFU reset with no luck. There is no physical damage / water damage to this phone.

Any recommendations before throwing this thing through the window and getting something new? Should I open it and try to re-seat any cables? Thanks.

I’d take a q tip and clean the speakers out first. I had problem with my ear piece speaker that I thought was bad and then I did that and it was perfect afterwards and has been since. They can get pretty gunked up.

Both speakers are gunk free, and the part that made me think this was something deeper is that both speakers started doing this simultaneously.
