Got a small amount of $$ burning a hole in my pocket and I've got my eye on an Airport Express...
Right now I have a Verizon G router and a gen1 AEBS. The Verizon router feeds my iPhones, Wii, WinXP media server and my MBP when the AEBS is out of range (all too frequently); the AEBS feeds an iMac, MBP most of the time, and an
tv. My media server is in a cupboard and has a rock solid Linksys G card in it that somehow manages to stream everything speedily enough that I have no real reason to change it. However, the one thing that really pisses me off is when the MBP goes out of range of the AEBS and I have to switch to my G router in the middle of doing something.
So I'm thinking of purchasing an airport express and using it to a) extend the N network of the AEBS and b) wire up to my media server to bump its connection up to 100mb/s.
Can this work? Will the airport express extend my N network as well as effectively adding an extra lan port to it?
