I would picture New York City as the capital of the world. The worlds economy is there. If not New York City any U.S city because( my opinion) most of the world revloves around the U.S's econamy. When 9/11 happen our econanmy dropped, so did the world's.

To be honest, this is a little naive. While I would agree that New York City is the capital of the world, it would be more for its culture than its economics. Don't get me wrong, it's one of the top cities, but as far as global trade goes, London tops it. Check out "Global Networks, Linked Cities" by Saskia Sassen.

As far as the U.S. economy causing the rest of the world to follow, I would say that it is more the other way around, and definitely somewhere in the middle. Check out "The Lexus and the Olive Tree: Understanding Globalization" by Thomas L. Friedman.

Not trying to sound snide... but I've studied quite a bit of global economics, and I have to say, as powerful as the U.S. is, it is equally as delusional.
