In the last couple of days I've been able to quit Finder - Cmd Q and my icons dissappear. It does no harm, but is a bit unnerving, and I don't remember being able to do it before. The first time I thought there was something seriously wrong and restarted  but it's still there.

Anyone else having this issue?
I'm just wondering if it's indicative of a problem that is gradually brewing in the background that I should do something about.

Shouldn't be a major problem, I've enabled the "Quit Finder" menu item myself. You can use something like TinkerTool to enable/disable it, or just use Terminal:

defaults write com.apple.finder QuitMenuItem -bool yes
defaults write com.apple.finder QuitMenuItem -bool no

Good. I was a bit concerned, but it's actually handy as I can close all my Finder Windows at once.

Thanks.
