Quitting Word/Excel 2008 takes forever

My Office 2008 apps (Word / Excel) take forever to quit. When I quit the app, the documents are closed quickly, but then the app stays around for a minute or so, unresponsive, enough to cancel a logout. If I quit the app and wait long enough, it finally quits.

Anybody know what I can do about this?

Funky. I know that office 08 took forever to close and load on my 12" pb when it was running leopard but office seems to work quite efficiently on my iMac.

The only real advice I can give is to check and see if your office software is up to date. Other than that I hope someone else here can help you.
